Our Story

“The Black Girl in College Podcast mission is to share the experiences of Black women in college and to create a safe space where our experiences are the primary focus. In doing so we aim to provide comfort and support to those who can relate to our unique experiences, or for those who aren’t in college to provide a new perspective of what it means to be a Black girl in college.”

Mission Statement

Our idea of starting a podcast sparked one day when we were having one of many deep conversations about how we struggle as Black women at our PWIs. We wanted to create a space for Black girls at a PWI to share their experiences because we knew we weren’t the only Black girls struggling with certain things in college. Starting a podcast for Black girls in college came from the multiple in-depth conversations we've had with each other about our adversities as Black women at a PWI.

Our goals are to create a safe space for Black women in college and at a PWI to be more heard, seen, and better represented as we create a support group for each other.
